St. Louis-based general contractor and construction management firm McGrath & Associates has been selected to provide design and build work for U.S. Paint’s new $5 million warehouse in downtown St. Louis.
U.S. Paint, a developer and manufacturer of customized automotive and industrial paints and coatings located at 831 S. 21st St., is looking to replace an existing warehouse with a 33,000-square-foot building.
McGrath will build a new pre-engineered metal building to provide office space, a maintenance shop, a battery charging area and storage for raw materials. The new building will connect to an existing manufacturing building to allow covered access for forklift truck traffic, the company said in a statement.
During phase two of the construction, the existing raw materials warehouse will be demolished and a new building added to provide space for a quality control lab and liquid materials storage.
U.S. Paint currently has 70 employees and was acquired by Japan-based Kansai Paint in 2016, according to the statement.
