This $11 million, 36,700-square-foot renovation of the Intensive Care Unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital includes 36 new ICU rooms, patient care stations, support areas, and family waiting areas.
McGrath also installed three new mechanical units and performed building infrastructure upgrades on multiple floors.
A significant portion of the project was located directly above the hospital’s Central Sterile Processing Department, which prepares and distributes sterile surgical instrumentation to the OR and other areas of the hospital. McGrath followed strict contamination isolation and infectious prevention measures to ensure a safe work environment and clean air quality for patients and staff.
