The $1.7 million Barnes-Jewish Hospital Pain Management project consisted of building a new suite on the 14th floor of the Center for Advanced Medicine. McGrath was successful in exceeding the Owner’s goals for diversity inclusion as approximately 23% of the project was completed by minority contractors.
The diversity inclusion success was achieved even though the need for a compressed schedule developed late during pre-construction. The project was started two weeks earlier and finished one month sooner than the original scheduled dates. The final cost was also substantially lower than the initially estimated cost.
