McGrath served as General Contractor for the construction of 21 new Mechanical and Electrical buildings at the new Holcim (US) Inc. Ste. Genevieve Cement Plant. This new cement plant contains the largest single kiln line in the world and our project was a part of the more than $1 billion dollar investment in the facility.
Each building was unique in size and shape, ranging from one to two stories and from 550 sf to 12,000 sf. The buildings consisted of poured concrete foundations, structural masonry walls, structural steel roof beams and poured concrete roof decks. The buildings were scattered over the 1,700 acre construction site.
McGrath was presented with the unique challenge of constructing these buildings amongst steel structures, process equipment, concurrent construction activities and extreme site logistical challenges. McGrath, with intense coordination with the acting construction manager, was able to work through all the site logistical challenges to produce a successful project.
