Ameren-Bland Substation

Ameren Missouri’s new $1.8 million Bland substation in Owensville, Missouri provided additional capacity for electrical distribution. The 5.5-acre expansion of the 345 kV substation work included 206 deep foundation piers and a new transformer pit. The rocky project site required substantial earthwork to prepare for construction. Ameren-Cape Girardeau Transmission Line

This project involved replacement of wood pole power line structures along Cape Girardeau’s river wall with new steel poles. This project was immediately adjacent to existing active rail lines. McGrath self-performed the deep foundations for the new transmission line. Due to the proximately of the river, all foundations were installed utilizing a slurry method of construction. Ameren-Central Substation

McGrath performed civil site work including excavation/backfill, foundations, concrete retaining walls, fencing and security on the three-and-a-half acre Ameren St. Louis Central Substation project in downtown St. Louis. The project included installation of 338 concrete pier foundations for the substation, some of them 8’ in diameter and 60’ deep. General contractor services totaled $3.7 million. Ameren-Dorsett Training Building

McGrath served as the Construction Manager and General Contractor for the construction of the $900,000, 3,990-square-foot expansion to the existing Training Building at Ameren’s Dorsett Road campus. This facility provides classroom and workshop space for Ameren’s electrician's to receive additional training. Ameren-Fenton Substation
The first phase consisted of a settlement control system installation due to the flood plain, approximately 12’ high stamped retaining walls on two sides due to the narrow site, and then backfilling of the substation yard area to allow for the piers to be drilled without interfering with the sand drain system.
