ST. CHARLES, MO – McGrath & Associates has completed a $3.3 million drilled pier foundations and pipe pile mat foundation project for a utility company.
This project consisted of (10) drilled pier foundations from 9′ to 10′ in diameter and ranging from 40′ to 57′ deep. Along with the drilled pier foundations, the project consisted of (4) pipe pile driven foundations with mat foundations and pedestals. Each mat foundation is supported with (19) pilings driven 75′ to bedrock and filled with concrete. The mat foundations required 180 cubic yards of concrete each and had an 8′ diameter by 11′ tall projection.
One of the major challenges was access. The site required almost 2 miles of matting to get material and equipment from the main road back to the site.
